Woodylight in Action
The Woodylight has many uses on set. It is the perfect light to
bring in during " last looks" when you need to add
a little fill. It
works as a great wrap around light
to add to your key. DP Mark Doering-Powell likes
to use a Woody to wrap around a Kino.
Its a great
alternative to a floor bounce when
mounted on a beaver board.
Put a party gel on and its a great Key in a bar or party scene.
Put some CTB on and you have a TV flicker gag. Put some full
CTO on and you're ready to do a fire gag.
I've rigged it on the process trailer for driving
shots. Also works well when doing poor
mans process.
Mount it on a Gobo arm and you have "walking
wood" to be used as a fill on steadicam shots.
The light can be mounted on a menace
arm or C boom for added flexibility.
It's a great key for night exteriors.
Great to use on shoots with limited power. Here it's being
used on a night car interior running
off a put-put.
Put some CTB
on , select your bulbs and use the dimmer to create a TV gag.
Add some CTO, flip on a 212 and vary the dimmer for a fire
effect.
You can globe it with any globes you like... Party bulbs,
small households, photofloods, BCAS, ETC, ETC DP Mark Doering-Powell likes to globe his "woody" with two
BCAS and two 213s so he can change color temp with a flip
of a switch.
Add to your WoodyLight:
-FEV Adapter set: (four medium base to
FEV adapters and four FEV globes)
-40 degree control grid from "light tools"
-Custom hard road case which gives you room to store extra globes, etc.
