History of the WoodyLight
The WoodyLight was developed over the last three years by Gaffer
Keith Morgan. The original Woody housing was made entirely of wood
except for a metal reflector. It has been used exclusively on the
hit
Disney series "Even Stevens" and the remake of "Family
Affair" for the WB Network as well as several independent
features. On all these shows time was always
the enemy and having a controllable, adjustable soft source that
could
be placed in seconds was invaluable. It has proven itself to be
very durable and effective.
Over the last few years it has been constantly modified and improved
after suggestions from people working with the light. From Director
of Photography Mark Doering-Powell, Best Boy Electric Greg McEachen,
Key Grips Rocky Ford and John Palato, Electrician Larry Freeman
and yours truly it has become a better light.
From four prototypes on "Even Stevens" to seven on "Family
Affair" the
WoodyLight has been put to the test and proven itself to be reliable,
quick and effective
